Ella's Blessing Day!

On November 8th, Ella was blessed by her daddy. It was a very special day! Grandma Elsie, Grandpa Josh, and Uncle Jake were in town for the weekend from Idaho....which made it an even more special time! It was so nice to visit with them. We miss them already.
We also had lots of other family come to help us celebrate the day: Uncle Kerry and Aunt Shanna, cousin Brandon and Beth, Ashley and Derrick, Cameron and Emily, and of course my mom and dad!
After all going to church and hearing the blessing, everyone went to my mom and dad's for lunch. We had a good time visiting with everyone.

Here is Ella in her blessing dress.

It was a long day. She was all tuckered out!

Halloween 2009

Ethan picked out the perfect pumpkin at the pumpkin patch at Apple Hill.
We had a lot of fun!
Stopping for a quick picture by the tin man...Ethan was a little scared of him .
This was as close as he wanted to get.

A couple days before Halloween, Emily came over and we made sugar
cookies with Ethan. These are the ones that Emily and I did....

and here are the ones that Ethan frosted.

Here is Ethan's pumpkin ( that mom carved).

Halloween night!! Ella was a cute little pumpkin. She wasn't
too thrilled about wearing the costume. She sure looked cute
though.

Ethan was the cutest pirate ever!! I wish I could have
gotten a picture with his hat on, but he refused to leave it
on.

Ethan was pretty stoked about this trick-or-treating
thing.....you mean I go to houses and they give me candy??
Let's go!

This is pretty much what Ella did for Halloween......
relaxing in her swing.

She wasn't too excited about wearing the hat.

2 weeks old!!

My friend Jessica took these adorable pictures....she is soo talented!

Baby Ella!!

Well, I'm a little late in posting this...but baby Ella is here!

Here's the story: I had contractions for two nights in a row. The first night they were 15 minutes apart, and the second night they were 12 minutes apart. However, at around 1 am the second night, they started coming every 10 minutes. I was always told to wait till they were 5-7 minutes apart before going to the hospital, but my contractions were still 10 minutes apart and getting incredibly more painful....so finally at around 3:30 am, I decided it was time to go to the hospital!! Good thing I did...because as soon as I got in the car, they started coming every 5 minutes! By the time I got to the hospital I was at an 8! They admitted me and started prepping for delivery. I asked the nurse if I could get an epidural and she said there was no time. I told her, "I need an epidural!". So, she said she would try. Luckily, I was able to get an entrithical (don't know how to spell that) and epidural combo, since there wasn't enough time for a full epidural. It worked out great....I could still feel all the contractions, but not the baby coming out (which is the part I would rather not feel, if I can help it). Anyway, I got to the hospital at 4:30 am and Ella was born at 6:30 am....pretty fast! I only pushed for like 15 minutes. She was 7 lbs, 4 0z and 19 inches tall.
So, despite my best efforts, baby Ella was born on September 11. Oh well, I guess I'll never forget her birthday!

Not ready to say goodbye...

Joe's dad passed away last night. They think it was due to a blood clot that went to his heart. It was definitely unexpected. I think we are all still in shock and can't believe that this really happened.
We love you and will miss you so much Jim. It does bring me comfort though to know that I will see you again face to face. I also know that you are smiling down on us and are happy where you are.

Keep the Huskinson's in your prayers.....

Aunt Emily came to visit!

So, Emily (Joe's sister) came to visit just in time to help me with all of the "birthday festivities" for Ethan! It was so much fun to have her here for a few days. Ethan absolutely loved her (as you can tell by the smile under his binky).

Ethan turning two!

I can't believe that two year's ago I held my newborn baby boy in my arms. Time sure does fly! Everyone is always telling me that, but I never really believed it until now. TWO YEARS?!
Anyway, Ethan had a very exciting couple of days! First, we had a BBQ with the whole family on friday night and then Saturday we had a birthday party with his friends at the city park. It's funny, because Ethan thinks everyday is his birthday now. He keeps waking up and saying "Happy Birthday!".

Ethan with his new tricycle!

"Hey Derrick...check out my new ride."

blowing out candles on his brownie sundae.

My attempt at being creative....

Eating hot dogs at the park....let the fun begin!

Blowing bubbles...

trying to light the candles...the wind kept blowing them out.

Hooray for Ethan!

Ethan kept sticking his fingers in the frosting...he must be two or something :)

Eating cake

Opening presents...

Ethan needed a little help from daddy.

All in all, I think Ethan's second birthday was a success. I'm so glad that we were able to squeeze in a little Ethan time before Ella's big arrival!
